Welcome to the Perry County School District Federal Programs Department! This department coordinates several federal grants in conjunction with the Mississippi Department of Education. We are also a contributing district to area private schools. We receive funding from Titles I, II, and IV. Title I and Title II are designed to support State and local school reform efforts tied to challenging State academic standards in order to reinforce and amplify efforts to improve teaching and learning for students farthest from meeting State standards. Individual public schools with poverty rates above 40 percent may use Title I funds, along with other Federal, State, and local funds, to operate a “schoolwide program” to upgrade the instructional program for the whole school. Title II funds provide professional development and educational assistance to provide students with instruction from highly effective teacher assistants, teachers and principals.
